FOUNDER

Arturo Barberini

Founder and President, was born in Stuttgart, symbol of the versatile German industrial economy. He moves, still young, to New York. Here he increases his interest in modernity, multiculturalism, passion for work and entrepreneurial creativity. Then, he hands over his experience to the old family workshop. The conversion from artisan to industrial entity has been the starting point to establish a large-scale reality. Starting from the design and production of spaces for leader companies, Barberini becomes a General Contractor.

Since 25 years: spaces beyond the imagination

Since 1991 Barberini has concentrated in the furniture and modular kitchens sector as well as expanding into Retail including: Fashion, Jewellery, Ceramic design, Boating, Aeronautics, Automotive and the important publishing sector. The evolution and mission of the company has led Barberini to create a contract division expanding its operations both nationally and internationally. As a tangible demonstration of the development and positioning on the market Barberini built a brand new headquarters designed by it’s technical office and built autonomously: 40,000 square meters of which 16,000 square meters is floor space including both a creative sector and a production facility with modern machinery capable of manufacturing every phase.

2014 - 2015 INTERNATIONALIZE

In an increasingly global economy Barberini has had to expand the boundaries of its products throughout the world. Since 2014 important joint ventures have been established with international companies as well as partnerships with their local suppliers: from the United States of America to China, Europe and Africa Barberini ‘made in Italy’ is exported all over the globe. A global brand now recognised and appreciated Barberini in 2015 becomes a registered trade mark, the result of a quality path that started in 1991.

2012 BIRTH OF THE CONTRACT DIVISION

With the benefit of his experience Arturo Barberini recognises the company is ready to face a new challenge. By integrating the new Contracts Division with the existing Exhibition Division and Showroom there is a ready made structure with the management experience of organising procedures to give Barberini the status of a General Contractor.

2009 THE AMBITION DOESN’T STOP

In a historic moment in the country that begins to feel the grip of economic crisis only a brave person would venture into an ambitious project of building a modern and innovative headquarters. Arturo Barberini is this man with farsighted ideas and a pinch of healthy madness that has guided the company’s strategic decisions to date. Thus the project of the new headquarters was born which contains in a single large industrial building all the production processes for the creation of temporary and permanent exhibition stands. Not only a headquarters but also showrooms to display our total range of products.

2005 - 2007 NEW TRADE FAIR CENTRE: MILANO RHO FAIR

2005 is an historical year for Barberini because the Company meets permanently the Milan Exhibition Centre. Barberini signs the Installation  “Progetto Città” along with the Lissoni Studio based in Milan. This Project concerns an Exhibition area of  2.000 sqm. It celebrates concretely the inauguration of one of the biggest Exhibition Centre of Europe, nevertheless the first Exhibition Company to be listed at the Stock Exchange. The unique Installation for this event has been realized by different Companies working together. The Art Director is the architect Massimiliano Fuksas. In this historical period of important economical development for the country, Barberini is the leading actor once again with its ability and competence to offer exclusive and originals solutions both to the other societies and to the corporations involved in the project.

2003 INNOVATION

Thanks to a great experience reached during these years, in the 2003 there’s a new route to follow towards an ambitious Project: a drastic change of position, from the transformation of the Brand  and the integration of a new pay-off in order to reach an innovative construction system. A simple aluminium profile combined with noble materials such as glass and wood, this give  to our own architectures a touch of design and innovation which represents a win situation and makes the Brand Barberini taking off. The new key-words of these years are: Minimalism, Lightness, Simplicity both for Design and Communication. They also represents the contemporary trend philosophy.

2002 ABITARE IL TEMPO - VERONA

The temporary exhibition” Abitare il tempo” in 2002  led to the first partnerships with world-class architects. This event represented the ultimate expression of the architecture of the living spaces during the 2000s. Some undoubted professional people working in the Design field, they attended this event. People who gave rules and marked permanently the concept of spaces and places. Barberini had the privilege and the honour of working along with important men like Zaha Hadid, Enzo  Mari, Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Hisao Hosoe, Simone Micheli, Cleto Munari. First of all they were humans, then great professional with whom Barberini experienced and realized a new way of thinking and building.  We nourished our knowledge with new important ideas which marked in an unequivocal way our Installation Concept.

2000 SUMOB - PESARO. “TOWARDS THE FUTURE”

Three words to launch a challenge to the new Millennium already started: lightness, clarity and  an only direction to follow. For the first time, Barberini takes part to an international event with its own exhibition area and a concept completely and intentionally outside the box to reinforce its own identity and philosophy. This concept  drives the Company strategy till now: looking forward the future to taking new chances and having a look to the past to remember the starting point.

1995 – 2000 TOWARDS THE MODERNITY

The Company moved towards an architectural style of design and innovation  forever, now she enforces her own organization to face up new Clients and market challenges towards the new Millennium. Not only Booth but locations thought to host and satisfy the expectations of the always more demanding Customers: mezzanines, enchanting shapes, steel and glass combined with the most noble material: the wood.

1993

Within few years the Company takes off. At this point Arturo Barberini immediately understands the importance of buying new and modern production machineries, investing money also in advertising and communication, promoting the Barberini brand out of the standard channels. These are the basic principles which will lead the strategic choices also in the future.

1992 CASAITALIA SHOWROOM

Since one year from the birth of the Company, Barberini foresees the opportunity of broaden her horizons thanks to the installations of permanent structures. This becomes real with the realization of her first showroom for Casa Italia, signed by Barberini. In the same year, thanks to a positive market feedback and to the technical abilities, the Company realizes her first important architectonic structures in the Exhibition field.

1991 SAMP - PESARO

Being closed to the Furniture Industry Area and having a great spirit of enterprise, these elements led Arturo Barberini and its Company to the Installations for the Exhibitions. In 1991 Barberini takes part to the  Samp Event (the Pesaro Furniture Show) thanks to the Booth Installation for her first five Clients: Pedini Spa, Inventa Srl, Gm, Ebanisteria Pergolese and Duebi Srl. This Exhibition marks the beginning life of the Company and her Founder.
